Performed MR patient table docking and undocking force testing and developed analysis models based on table drawings, solid models, and prototypes. Proposed design changes to maximize table’s mechanical efficiency. Supported the effort to update patient table assemblies to RoHS compliance standards by updating component specifications, interacting with suppliers, and sourcing new components where required.

-Led engineering activities for clinical research and validation trials on Class II and III medical devices.-Assessed the relevant regulatory standards and engineering specifications to define study protocol, including enrollment requirements and data acquisition and analysis procedures.-Created custom tools to enable simplified data collection, analysis, and study monitoring.-Processed study data to track enrollment and produce results for regulatory submissions.-Facilitated meetings with principal investigators and study staff to evaluate study progress and troubleshoot issues. Show less This full-time program builds technical and professional expertise through a series of rotations and functional training. Completed assignments included projects in design, manufacturing, field failure analysis, and testing under a quality management system. Training areas included Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), design controls, and risk management.Electromechanical Design Engineer, Ultrasound Service, 4th Rotation:Reverse engineered adapters on an diagnostic tool for ultrasound probes. Analyzed existing adapter design using electronic test equipment, circuit schematics, and firmware source code. Defined adapter signal mapping, multiplexing, and communication with probe transducers, EEPROM, and other hardware.Mechanical Engineer, X-ray Detectors, Independent Project:Investigated a product field failure. Performed autopsies to identify failed components and worked with clinicians to define use cases and product handling practices. Created custom test fixtures, DOE, and Matlab scripts to evaluate potential design changes.Mechanical Design Engineer, MR Hardware, 3rd Rotation:Designed patient handling equipment for a new MR scanner. Created solid models, linkage mechanism assemblies, and production drawings using Creo (Pro/E). Evaluated product IEC60601 compliance concerns. Usability and Human Factors Engineer, CT Systems, 2nd Rotation:Defined feature requirements for new CT cardiac scan and data management interfaces through literature reviews, a use case analysis, and formative usability tests. Led usability validation testing on a CT user interface update.Test Engineer, CT Tubes, 1st Rotation:Planned and executed hardware tests on CT tube prototypes during new product development. Designed a data acquisition system using National Instruments DAQ hardware and LabView software. Produced CAD models and engineering drawings for fixtures using Creo (Pro/E). Show less
