  Under the aegis of the competitively-selected S2DS training program, we carried out a five week project for the Ditchley Foundation, a non-profit organisation which organises influential international conferences. As part of a 4-person team we were tasked with enhancing their internal database with information from external sources (including social media and academic publication records) so that they could optimise their procedure for inviting conference participants. Extracting data from a graph database, we used Python/Pandas to deliver a tool to robustly match people across these different sources. We were then able to apply Natural Language Processing to carry out topic modelling and analyse the contents of the tweets. Show less

  In charge of the overall tech strategy for Ditchley, including management of the research process and design of the end-to-end workflow. I am also involved in its implementation, in conjunction with the team at RA2. I lead our internship programme, which recruits tens of interns each year, and manage the networks and tech projects within this programme. Continuing to work on aspects from my previous position: managing another S2DS team, developing our graph database, and contributing to the thematic work of the foundation. Show less
