  Following 2 years of the EIT programme and following my Junior Project Manager experience, I was appointed as Project Manager and Construction Manager for the Koeberg Plant Computer (KIT) replacement project (2008 - 2011) and Koeberg RCP Draindown system upgrade (ORI) project (2012-2017). Westinghouse was the principal contractor and Eskom the Employer.I also was part of the bid team and was appointed Project Manager for the Emergency Diesel Generator project at Eskom's Kusile coal fired power station (2011 - 2017).I was also the Construction Manager on two projects at Koeberg site, where I was responsible for all implementation aspects.   Amec, the majority shareholder in NCI, merged with Foster Wheeler and formed Amec Foster Wheeler. My position remained the same and the Koeberg Fire Detection Replacement project (2014-2020) was added to my portfolio.

  Project Engineering Manager

  Amec Foster Wheeler was acquired by the John Wood Group and formed Wood.At the same time I was promoted to Project Engineering Manager, responsible for all bids and projects at Wood's Cape Town office. Integration into the Wood management systems was also my responsibility.As the market was quiet during this period, I spent time restructuring the project department, and was bid manager on a must-win project to upgrade safety valves on the Koeberg turbine drain piping.

  Jacobs acquired Wood's nuclear division and as such the original NCI became Jacobs Clean Energy SA.I am still part of the management structure as the Project Engineering Manager, responsible for all bid and project activities and have also taken on a number of operational functions, reporting directly into Jacobs UK. Leadership and operational business management are a large part of my responsibilities. I was the bid manager and eventual project director on the General Electric, Steam Generator Daughter modifications to replace piping and components on Koeberg secondary side (2020 - current).I have also overseen numerous bids and projects (Koeberg Safety Reassessment, Koeberg Access Control upgrade, Civil Engineering support, Pressurizer heater replacement, etc.) which have reinvigorated the local Jacobs Cape Town office and has positioned us well for the future.
