      Helping to manage transition further to creation of Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation including oversight and monitoring of contract for development services reporting directly to AD for Sustainable Communities. Setting up processes and systems to support regulatory services including planning, licensing, development control, health and safety and building control.

      Leading team responsible for direct delivery and policy making to advance and embed council’s equality, engagement and empowerment objectives. Championing and advising on co-design and co-production of services with residents, community and voluntary sector, public and private sector partners and agencies and the delivery of council’s equality objectives. The team oversee direct engagement with community and voluntary sector, deliver online consultation portal, provide specialist advice and guidance to services in relation to best practice and principles of engagement and management of the corporate volunteering programme. I led the development and adoption of council’s Social Value Framework and response to the Public Service Social Value Act working with a partnership and services to embed social value principles into commissioning practice. Championed adoption of Thurrock’s SVF by other partners and anchor institutes through commissioning to secure benefits for residents and business - commitments in place. Prepared council’s first Commissioning, Procurement and Grant Funding Strategy with the VCFS in 2014. I provide Equality, Diversity and Inclusion expertise delivering in-house training across council, providing advice and guidance on Equality Act and Public Sector Equality Duty. Prepared the EIA submitted with the government bid for Thames Freeport. Recent enablement of corporate commitment to extended EDI plan and cultural transformation incl. creation of an Improving Equality Outcomes Board and integration of health into a refreshed approach to community equality impact assessment also drawing out socio-economic intelligence to measure and respond to impact of cost of living crisis across systems and policy-making. Committed to CPD, I am currently in my second year of study towards a Chartered Manager Degree with ARU (four years in total) with plans in place to follow on to a Senior Leadership Masters Degree and EMBA. Show less Working with SD Team to develop, submit and implement European Regional Development Fund bid, including management, admin and auditing systems for South Essex Low Carbon Business programme. Working across a South Essex multi-agency partnership to deliver programme across local authority boundaries, working with businesses and voluntary sector. While with the team, I also managed the borough’s Next Top Boss initiative reviving the partnership board and building new relationships across schools, businesses and the voluntary sector to support the long-term sustainability of the programme (still thriving).
