  I was Project Manager for the Search and Rescue (SAR) team of Lifeguard Hellas on a voluntary basis after my military service. On top of this I also oversaw swimming lessons in the summer months for the refugees in collaboration with other partner organisations.My roles included;- budget management.- overseeing the upkeep of equipment, training and well being of my team.- working closely with NGO’s, International and regional organizations (UN, NATO and Frontex, etc) and local organizations such as local police/ coast guard and the local communities in which we worked, to assure our presence was a positive contribution.- representing the organization on the island- making sure that my team were prepared for the task at hand and were also briefed on the code of conduct of the organization.- teaching swimming - providing first aid - patrols of the coast and search and rescue when needed.
