      Work on a project titled: "The Effects of Ocean Acidification and Hypoxia on the hormonal stress and growth responses in Juvenile Blue Rockfish". This work is looking at cortisol and IGF-1 levels as well as a sweep of physiological and behavioral metrics in response to OA and hypoxia and a combination of the two. Inspect lab safety equipment (shower/eyewash stations, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.), Assist EHS with hazardous materials inspections and record keeping as well as lab equipment and instrumentation inventory. Supported faculty with prep and clean up for classes conducting laboratory work with chemicals and/or specimens. Assist students with course work, homework, labs and general R use for Statistics course. Assist professor with organizing and scheduling labs and grading assignments. Run weekly labs with students.

      Animal husbandry and team management for the Aquaculture Research Facility (ARC) with variety of tank systems housing finfish and invertebrates, focused on aquaculture in a research setting. Provide technical and research support to faculty researchers, technicians and students using the space and ensure proper feeding procedures are being used. Supervise daily operations in the Zebrafish facility. Ensure daily harvest and distribution of live Artemia feed for zebrafish. Provide hands-on training to new technicians, interns and volunteers in standard facility protocols and any projects/systems they will be working on. Lead person handling and treating all disease and animal conditions with the ARC veterinarian. Managing IACUC protocols by maintaining proper recordkeeping and accompany IACUC on biannual inspections of the facility. Communicate with outside vendors to obtain quotes, select feeds and equipment.
