  This was the start of my Entrepreneurial Journey. After getting frustrated at Stedone Construction and doing odd civil jobs & driveways on the weekends, I opened my own Civil Construction Company. We grew from a small one man "Bakkie Builder" operation to a fully fledged Construction company. We did Earthworks, roadworks, Civil Engineering Infrastructure including storm water, sewer and water reticulation, etc. In 1996, the company had grown to the extent that we were in the position to purchase a gravel quarry. We thought this was our future and would give us a competitive edge in winning our own contracts as well as supplying the local market.Unfortunately in 1999, when the construction industry imploded, non-payment from a lot of our customers, we had to give the quarry back to the original owner. Shortly thereafter, we had to close the civil company as well. I went through some tough times but it was a great learning experience.Fortunately, I managed to repurchase the Quarry property in 2003 & develop it into Giba Business Park!   Stockville Quarry is a Decomposed Granite (Gravel) Borrow Pit. We sell various forms of gravel to anyone & everyone but especially the Construction Industry. We have reopened the quarry & are working with Eskom & Ethekwini Electricity to move the towers in the middle of our quarry!   Giba Gorge Adventure Park is a top class Adventure Park just outside Westmead in KZN. On top of 40km of sublime trails, we offer Team building, functions, have a conference facility, Coffee Shop, Entertainment area, BMX Track, etc!

  Giba Storage opened for business on 1 December 2011. We currently have 210 units. Unfortunately the current economic & political Instability in the country are making people uncertain about their futures. However it does increase the demand for Storage!
