  Having enjoyed my time as a maintenance technician, I wanted to further expand my knowledge and take on more responsibility. In this role I am responsible for the general maintenance and running of the equipment during shift hours and stand in for the Senior Maintenance Leader when required. The role's objectives are also to seek improvements to our current processes and implement these ideas to improve performance. After completing my apprenticeship, I joined the maintenance team in BIW. From here I worked across multiple areas completing reactive and preventative maintenance tasks. During this time I was lucky enough to be involved in a number of projects which helped me to expand my knowledge and skills. Completed over a 4 year period. During this time I completed my basic training at NWTC for 18 months and began to develop my skills in the Halewood plant. From here, I spent a further 18 months working towards my 'BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma' whilst also working on shifts in the maintenance department.
