      Began exploration career as a seismic refraction observer on a field crew assigned to the Ougoue Basin in central Gabon. Responsible for managing local labor and ensuring safe and efficient field operations. Lived in primitive field conditions for several weeks at a time with local crew, requiring the ability to work effectively under extremely harsh conditions. Later promoted to QC Seismologist responsible for quality control processing of seismic data on PC-based platforms in Congo, Egypt and Somalia. The remote and isolated nature of the work developed a strong sense self-sufficiency, self-discipline and an ability to interact with fellow expatriate and local indigenous personnel.
