      Nov 2018 - Mar 2019
      Service Crew

As my first experience working in the F&B sector, I was exposed to the various operational tasks in an F&B outlet. I had the opportunities to enhance my communication and customer service skills, especially during peak dining hours where I could adapt efficiently to different scopes of work, such as managing cashier duties to food production at the dessert bar. Although this job was not a long-term stint, I gained insights, skills and abilities to work with others in an F&B setting. These attributes are valuable in my future occupations, whether in the F&B sector or in my desired career pathway. Show less

    • Wan Wan Thai Cafe

      Oct 2020 - Feb 2021
      Service Crew

I had the opportunity to work in an establishment that rose to popularity with its aesthetical cafe space and appealing menu. I was responsible for coordinating crowd control, especially during peak hours where I had to take extra caution due to Covid-19 safe management measures. Through this working experience, I honed my multi-tasking abilities as I partook roles in cashiering, serving, and ushering customers while on duty.

    • Bethesda CARE Centre

      Mar 2021 - Jul 2021
      Programme Coordinator

From 1 March to 2 July, I interned in Bethesda Care Centre's Friendship And Mind Enrichment (FAME) Club and Senior Activity Centre (SAC) as a Programme Coordinator. Key Achievements:• Planned and executed 2 curriculums about Emotions and Strengths respectively for FAME Club members • Facilitated filler programs in FAME Club, such as hands-on activities like "Making a Dream House", games to revise topics learnt and group discussions on educational videos• Created an Anger Management Resource Book for FAME Club members• Planned an outing to the Botanic Gardens for seniors at the SAC• Facilitated key activities in the SAC such as weekly bingo sessionsThrough this 4-month internship, I gained greater insight into what it takes to fulfil the needs of the vulnerable and understood what resources were needed to do so. I learnt to be more open and flexible, and was given numerous opportunities to plan group sessions. This gave me room to execute my ideas in actual sessions, fuelling my creativity and passion for planning programmes. The most rewarding aspect I have gained is confidence. I used to be afraid and hesitant about public speaking and meeting new people, but this internship experience increased my comfort level in interacting with large groups of individuals. Additionally, I gained a stronger foundation in programme management, including the coordination of resources and needs analysis of the beneficiary involved. I have also developed soft skills such as resilience during difficulties faced and empathy when working with the beneficiaries. With these knowledge and skills, I am able to have greater contributions in the defence sector in areas involving the execution of training programmes, liaising departments for the required resources, as well as resilience when completing difficult tasks and responsibilities.
