  MAE 170-Experimental Techniques is a basic "Electronics" lab course at the undergraduate level at UCSD. I provide the students with positive and constructive feedback on their work. I encourage my students to review the best performances in the lab reports during the week. I do this to increase a sense of teamwork and belonging. This makes them work as a team and not as competitors. I produce my own report on their work in which I mention the names of the students who have done very well. Show less

  • Prototyped 3 inserts for Aluminium Fixtures.   • Designed and fabricated a compact assembly and enclosure of the varioMetric optical system that resulted in reduced overall length of the optical assembly from 450 mm to 190 mm with an optimized optical beam path and mechanical spacing.• The updated core design of varioMetric is integrated using custom 5-d.o.f. optical mountings in all the top level optical products: varioMill, varioEdit & varioProfile for the feedback of the Silicon chip micro-machining process resulting in product space reduction.• Contributed in assembling the newest version of the varioProfile product with a supervisor engineer in the team.• Qualified cylindrical glass polarizing lenses used in varioMetric using the ZEISS AXIO Microscope, and documented each qualification with images of the polarizing quality at 0° and 90° angles. Glued the qualified components to an Aluminum Surface with Epoxy Polymer which is later placed in the objective lens assembly of the varioMetric product. Show less
