  During his tenure as a Recreation Facility Director, Andrew was responsible for overall operations at several community centers, including Echo Park Recreation Center and Stonehurst Recreation Center in Sun Valley, California. Andrew developed a comprehensive program consisting of arts and cultural classes, year-round youth and adult sports leagues, preschool, afterschool enrichment programming, teen activities, and programs for senior citizens. At Stonehurst Park, Andrew worked closely with community members to create the first equestrian area built in a public park, celebrating the neighborhood’s heritage. Andrew was also a chairperson for the annual Echo Park Lotus Festival, celebrating Pacific-Islander heritage, and for the Pershing Square Winter Holiday Festival in Downtown LA. Show less As a Recreation Coordinator at Granada Hills Recreation Center, Andrew organized a program of arts and cultural activities and taught arts and music classes to young people and adults.   Andrew Kasdin is the Director of Incoming Grants for the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, where he is responsible for development and administration of grant-funded programs. Working directly with the General Manager, he has helped raise over $30 million for arts and cultural programming. Andrew works to leverage public and private resources to support initiatives that advance equity and inclusion for artists and arts organizations in Los Angeles, including programs targeting youth arts education; affordable artists’ housing; economic development and cultural tourism. In addition, Andrew helps implement art exhibitions, festivals, and performing arts programming throughout the City of LA. Show less
