  Construction is in my blood; my family history shows that I come from a long line of carpenters/joiners. My father, a self-employed builder/carpenter, put me through my apprenticeship following high school. After spending three years in college: learning the trade and gaining all the necessary qualifications, I became a fully qualified carpenter in 2005. The day I qualified, my father threw me in at the "deep end", he told me that I was now self-employed and that I would have to find my own work. This tough lesson made me grow as an individual and as a tradesman, it taught me to stand on my own two feet. I learned how to survive, which I can proudly say I did, even through the hard times of the recession. Show less
