      My appointment was for 12 months to develop the new RMHRF and the business processes and practices.Achievements included:Registration of the RMHRF as both an NHNRC Accredited Research Agency and an Industry and Research & Development Board Registered Research Agency.Established research partnerships within the "Parkville Strip" with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, the Howard Florey Institute and the University of Melbourne Departments of Medicine and Surgery.Co-ordination of research activities across the RMH including implementation and application of policies supporting Medical Research, Human and Animal Ethics, Genetically Modified Organisms, HR polices for research staff paid through search grant income.Supported the Board of the RMHRF, Scientific Committee/Board of Medical Research, Human Ethics Committee, Hospital Campus Animal Ethics Committee, Institutional BioSafety Committee, Research Advisory Committee and Bone Marrow Research Laboratories Advisory Committee.Policy development including Intellectual Property for Researchers and Indemnity Statements for Clinical Trials, preparation of the RMHRF annual report.       Reported to the Faculty General Manager and was responsible for the daily operation of the University Departments of Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, Radiology and Clinical Schools at the Royal Melbourne and Western Hospitals. Managed revenue of $46M+.Achievements:Established a single integrated administration for the Academic Centre across core areas of Finance, Human Resources, IT, Graduate Research, Postgraduate Coursework, Laboratory and Biological Resource Facilities, OH&S. The changes in the workforce profile resulted in salary savings of $1M+ per annum. Show less Responsible for the management of the School's finances, academic programs and IT services in conjunction with the Directors and Mangers of each of the nine research centres that comprised the MSPH.Managed revenues of $40M+. MSPH became the most successful research School in the Faculty.Achievements:Established the VIVHealth Centre for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing and the Indigenous Eye Health Unit.Negotiated additional core funding ($500K+) to recognise the School's contribution to undergraduate teaching in the School of Medicine.Negotiated 50 Commonwealth Supported Places for the Master of Public Health to ensure a competitive profile with the three other MPH programs at Monash, LaTrobe and Deakin Universities.       Provided strategic leadership driving the performance of the School's operational and business services enabling high quality teaching, research and industry engagement. The MSE organisational structure incorporates three sub-Schools, 22 Research Centres and ~ 885 staff (Academic and Professional).Achievements included:1. Managed 12 direct reports across HR, Finance and Performance, IT, Marketing and Communications, Research, Academic and Student Support, Facilities and OHS and sub-School Operations. In total 120FTE Professional Staff.2. Managed growth in annual revenue from $120M in 2014 to $362M in 2019 and growing to a projected $385M in 2021 and $450M by 2025.3. Managed growth in student numbers from ~ 3,800 full-time students in 2014 to 7,155 full-time students (14,000 headcount) in 2019 across undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and graduate research.4. Developed a ten-year strategic plan with a $1.2B investment in people and infrastructure that commenced in 2015 - MSE 2025. The success of this strategy was due to careful financial and market analysis. Progress has been monitored through lead and lag measures ensuring delivery against annual targets and strong governance with regular reporting to the University Executive and external stakeholders - inclusive of industry, Government and Alumni.5. This strategy sees MSE setting a new path by co-locating with industry at Melbourne Connect and Fishermans Bend and unparalleled opportunities for outstanding student experiences led by innovative pedagogy.
