The Zuidas municipal organisation is responsible for the development of the Zuidas area. The assignment of the Amsterdam city council is to develop a mixed urban district with a unique character. Besides this, the largest construction operation in its history is taking place in the area: Zuidasdok. This infrastructure project in the heart of Zuidas subsurfaces the A10 and widens the highway from four to six lanes. Above ground there will be a completely new Amsterdam Zuid station, a public transport terminal and a newly designed, green station area.
