Sales - Account Manager, General Manager, Marketing, Visual

Woven into the highly visible visual practice side of Laura's professional life is her story of how she developed sales acumen & agile approach to business management. Her career began with opening & operating her first fine art business in 1979. A retail presence that has been continuous to present. She secured a position running a Continental Trailways Terminal to obtain additional capital for her second retail gallery space, Hot Springs Trading Co. This led to her first property development & spurred her to create a historic retail dist. in Salida. Laura used her retail space as a springboard for her core income generator producing fine art shows & sales in Aspen, Vail & Santa Fe. During an economic downturn, she opened her 3rd retail gallery space in Denver in 1983. An opportunity to work in the LTL transportation sector at Roadway Express presented in 87 as an Asst Dock Supervisor & inside sales work comingled w/ resolving LTL shipment issues. Unable to advance, she returned to finish her undergrad in 2005, Laura opened her 4th retail gallery space in a warehouse that has become a popular art dist., RiNo. Throughout her management, sales & retail career, opportunities working outside her own business led to experiences she gained in various roles such as computer lab supervisor, visual work at Macy's, sales at ADT Security, & Denver representative for Spinmaster. Laura's focus shifted to a change in business practice through the gallery space in RiNo. She added contemporary art to her business repertoire. As a fine art dealer these experiences bolster her sales & mgmt. skills allowing her to develop agile mgmt. & leadership skills. She excels in planning, problem-solving, striving for excellence, integrity & innovation. Her leadership, drive, & ability to adapt have paved a path for her business to survive downturns, business & technological shifts; with a natural ability to empower people & a keen interest in strategies crossing social & cultural barriers Show less
