    • Domino's Pizza

      Jul 2008 - Sept 2009
      Customer Services Representative

Working at Domino's was a very demanding job. I was often required to work 6 hour shifts six days a week at short notice. I feel that I gained great organization and time management skills when dealing with customer's under pressure. I was also able to act in a managerial role at the front of the shop when necessary.

    • VINCI

      Jul 2010 - Sept 2010
      Office Assistant

This 6 week full time job introduced me to an office environment. While I was there the office went through a system change so in addition to doing large amounts of filling and general administration for those who needed it I was able to help design templates for the new forms and certificates required to be sent out as the new procedures were developed.

    • Union of UEA Students

      May 2011 - May 2013
President of UEA Natural Sciences Society

Managing the society was a very enjoyable but very time consuming job. Responsibilities included the societies paperwork, organizing events, recruiting new students to the society, attending student staff liaison meetings and making sure all other committee members were happy and aware of their responsibilities.

    • University of East Anglia

      Jul 2011 - Aug 2013

This was a 10 week placement in which I started to create data files for a new database being developed by the UEA department which would be the first database of its kind. I mastered many skills such as the linux operating system. I became proficient with MATLAB modeling and also learnt in great depth about some of the current areas of research within seismology. It was a great opportunity to enhance my abilities at independent learning and to get a taste of what research is like. I was able to attend a Phd conference at Oxford university as part of the placement which was a fantastic opportunity to see where it is possible to go within geophysical research. Show less

      Research Co-investigator: HYDRA

In wintertime, infrastructure in Great Britain (GB) is threatened by multiple significant meteorological hazards, and it is increasingly apparent that these interact in a complex yet poorly studied multi-hazard system. Taking the railway network as a use case, HYDRA is an exploratory project that aims to identify, quantify, and provisionally explain how the cooccurrence of six key GB HYDRo-meteorological wintertime extremes exAcerbates risk (i.e. extreme wind, storm surge, inland flooding, landslide, extreme cold, snow) now and in the future.
