  Worked in Dr. Elayaraja Kolanthai’s lab in the Advanced Materials Processing and Analysis Center. Assisted with research experiments and writing papers regarding miRNA/siRNA delivery using cerium oxide nanoparticles for wound healing treatment, including silk fabrication utilizing electrospinning, replacing medium for cell cultures, and miRNA conjugation.

  Worked in Dr. Wencai Zhang’s lab in the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences. Assisted with research experiments regarding the molecular mechanisms in the early stages of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)-mutant lung cancer, and in particular the metabolism of tryptophan to kynurenine by indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 and its relationship to EGFR, to see if it can be targeted in a novel treatment. Included doing Western blot assays, cell titer glo assays, immunostaining, and the maintenance of multiple cell lines. Show less
