      1) Build web applications that feature a consistent look and feel. Visual Studio, an Integrated Development Environment (IDE), is the primary tool used to create applications that deliver quality and enjoyment. With Visual Studio the developer builds applications that feature the very latest in controls – like the Form View and Grid View in conjunction with the SQL Data Source - making the interface responsive to the user’s actions.2) Write database stored procedures to house specific business functionality, eliminating duplication of code. Stored procedures are written in Transact SQL syntax and normally feature parameters that provide for a dynamic result each time they are called from the front-end application. Stored procedures perform some form of data manipulation and typically utilize existing database tables, views, temporary tables, and cursors.3) Design custom reports that feature easy navigation and a professional presentation. Crystal Reports, which comes bundled into Visual Studio, provides a framework for report design that feature interactive, dynamic content built into the application.4) Protect and secure the privacy of the personal information that is processed. Data is protected by securing web servers through network control, encrypting data transmission, utilizing the Net ID access protocol and the configuration of firewalls.5) Carry out the project management role ensuring proper coverage of the system development life cycle (define, design, develop, deploy & promote, maintain & innovate).6) Utilize the Drupal open source content management system to build public websites as needed. With Drupal the designer can define content types and match end users to particular roles for altering content themselves. Show less
