      Engineering post in a multinational company specialised in the design, development andmanufacture of clutch systems and components for the majority of automotive manufacturersworldwide. Working within a team of engineers, I was responsible for the design andoptimisation of clutch disc assemblies installed in vehicles currently in production aswell as new models planned for future release. My responsibilties included:· Liaison with sales department or client, vehicle testing and designers of otherelements of the clutch system to obtain the design specification.· Detail design of steel parts, injection moulded plastic components and the assemblywith Pro-Engineer. When necessary, critical load bearing parts are also optimised with theuse of finite elements analysis (ANSYS Design Space).· Coordination with the test, prototype and production departments to identify and testany critical areas of products and carry out the necessary design optimisation.· Production of detail drawings, design documentation (e.g. FMEA) and coordination andsupervision of draughtspersons assisting me.· Consultation with production, assembly and external suppliers to refine designs inorder to reduce production costs, increase the efficiency of the manufacturing processesand maximise the quality of the product.
