Role included supporting spatial data analysis for hazard risk and vulnerability assessments, particularly related to FEMA Risk MAP studies. Leadership was demonstrated by guiding the team through complex data preparation tasks and ensuring that all project goals were met efficiently. Tasked with using industry-standard GIS tools such as ArcGIS for database preparation and creation, a proactive approach to problem solving was taken by identifying potential data inconsistencies and ensuring that data integrity was maintained throughout the project. Additionally, responsible for managing and maintaining GIS databases, strong communication was employed to provide clear, ongoing updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contributions were made to FEMA damage assessments and risk reduction initiatives, leading efforts to streamline the analysis process. Expertise in Hazus and FEMA Risk MAP was utilized to conduct detailed spatial analysis, ensuring that data was consistent and accurate. This required teamwork, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure deliverables met regulatory standards and were accessible to diverse stakeholders. Problem-solving skills were applied to address technical challenges and improve overall workflow. Through effective communication, comprehensive reports, SOPs, and presentations were developed to ensure they were understandable to all stakeholders. These efforts resulted in the successful delivery of high-quality data and reports that supported FEMA’s damage assessments, risk reduction initiatives, and furthered the coverage of Risk MAP flood hazard data for communities that did not have adequately updated information. The final deliverables were well-received by clients and stakeholders, providing clear, actionable insights and meeting all regulatory requirements.
