      • Directed operations of the sheriff's office in routine, strategic, and tactical environments.• Served as the sheriff's principal advisor and as his chief executive officer.• Collaborated with multiple levels of government at local, state, and federal levels, including tribal government for the advancement of common interests.• Established a network of Law Enforcement professionals and maintained communications between agencies to promote common interests, and to improve relationships.• Primary Public Information Officer (PIO) and point of contact for media relations.• Supervised and mentored 115 member staff for law enforcement, corrections, and administrative services; the principle author of policy and directives relating to operations.• Acted as chief financial officer, procured, organized, and managed the sheriff’s $ 8,000,000 budget; identified and leveraged funding sources, allocated expenditures, and prioritized spending. Concentrated on efficiencies, and effective spending including the strategic acquisition of equipment and resources.• Administered the incorporation of technological advances such as CCTV, access control, and mobile video architecture and archiving for patrol units into an operational environment. Directed a project which, obtained, and deployed a mobile data system for patrol units, streamlining data connectivity in the field, allowing for increased safety and efficiency of patrol staff.• Evaluated and consulted for procurement and execution of a three county-area public safety communications system. Guided operations and governance by serving on the technical and executive committees.• Directed the application for and administration of grant funds to meet jurisdictional goals and responsibilities.       Through its courses and integrated programs, the Emergency Management Institute [EMI] serves as the national focal point for the development and delivery of emergency management training to enhance the capabilities of State, local, and Tribal government officials; volunteer organizations; FEMA’s disaster workforce; other Federal agencies; and the public and private sectors to minimize the impact of disasters and emergencies on the American public. EMI curricula are structured to meet the needs of this diverse audience with an emphasis on separate organizations working together in all-hazards emergencies to save lives and protect property. Particular emphasis is placed on governing doctrine such as the National Response Framework, National Incident Management System, and the National Preparedness Guidelines. Show less
