  As the First Lieutenant in HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, the UK’s Flagship. I am the direct representative of the Commanding Officer and responsible to them for the organisation, performance of duty, training, maintenance, and good order and discipline of the entire ship. I work with a team of talented people, overseeing the work that delivers the tactical element of the Command’s intent. I the lead Diversity and Inclusion team, also leading the Unit Healthcare Committee for mental & physical health. My role entails leading the Executive Department of 25 people who are responsible for Policing and Discipline, Security, CBRN & Damage Control, Welfare, Physical Development & Sport, as well as managing the Daily Routines onboard. Show less I lead a team of 20+ instructors who deliver training from entry level technicians through to chartered engineers. The role encompasses the ownership of Weapon Engineering training courses where I conduct periodical reviews of the content along with identifying areas for improvement.I deliver a training course to system engineers who will be joining Type 23 frigates as the Head of Department or as a Deputy Head of Department. This involves direct instruction and discussions, visits to external stakeholders and a course assessment to ensure personnel meet the required standard before joining a ship. I am also the Royal Navy’s SME for T26 Weapon Engineering training.This role involves identifying training shortfalls and reviewing proposed course documentation and training solutions. Show less Responsible for all IT within HMS Sultan. I led a team of engineers who delivered IT support to 1500 people utilising a web helpdesk and face to face support. As the owner of all the IT equipment, I was responsible for the day to day operations of operational and training IT, which enabled users to learn and continue working throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, I project managed the delivery of a new IT system to enable staff to continue training and students to remotely work and learn using laptops. This included the rollout of over 1000 devices and the installation of WiFi and IT infrastructure to 54 buildings across the site. Show less Head of Section. Providing training and advice regarding the maintenance and performance limitations of all equipment held on board. Heading a team of two technical supervisors and five technicians. I am responsible for demanding replacement parts, liasing with outside authorities on availability of spares and assisting the engineering group head with the planning of major maintenance periods.
