      Armor Crewman

      -Assigned as primary gunner for the Battalion Commander’s Tank. Responsible for keeping M1A1 Abrams Tank and M114 HUMMV mission ready. Duties included inventory of all armaments to ensure that no short falls would affect operations. Additional duties included supervising eight S-3 armor crewmen to include making sure that they were fully trained and qualified on assigned duties. Conducted mobile patrols inside the scope of area of responsibilities during Iraqi Freedom. -During the 2005-2006 OEF deployment to Iraq duties and responsibilities included being the Battalion Command Group’s Personal Security Detachment NCO and the Battalion Commander’s Gunner. Responsible for maintaining a M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank and a M1114 Up-armored HMMVV. Provided security for the Battalion Commander during numerous missions to obtain information about enemy forces that operated in our area of responsibility. Provided security for several high ranking Army officers that entered our area of operations. Provided security for the Battalion Commander at meetings with Iraqi Leaders and Leaders of the Iraqi Army. Responsible for arranging interpreters to accompany the Battalion Commander on daily missions.During the 2003-2004 OIF deployment to Iraq duties and responsibilities consisted of being the advance party for the company. Performed test to determine if Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) agents were in the area of operations and/or staging area. Conducted both foot and vehicle patrols to establish rapport with Iraqi civilians. This rapport was critical in establishing contacts that helped gather information on possible threats and hostiles in the area of operations. Additional duties were to escort supply convoys throughout our area of responsibility and to provide security to areas of interest. Preparing letters from verbal instruction, taking and preparing minutes of committee meetings, managing the study protocol review system, and maintaining forms and active files. Assists with the review, preparation and processing of travel authorizations and vouchers for all employees assigned to the Group. Coordinates travel reservations and tickets for 305 personnel. Serves as the front desk/lobby receptionist receiving visitors and phone calls to the installation. Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software. Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities. Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Show less -Selected and performs as team member for the Stan/Eval Section. Provides feedback to the CSF/Defense Force Commander through the S-5 on the status of unit programs and to measure the effectiveness of the unit’s training program. Possesses excellent communicative skills and is knowledgeable of the unit’s functions. Demonstrates a high sense of self-motivation in previous duty positions and has excellent communication skills. -Responsible for providing entry and exit into PL 1 Restricted Area. Monitors all Alarms and CCTV and dispatched patrols to investigate all suspicious activities and unannounced alarms. Responsible logging all alarms, and work orders for the alarm system. Primary flight trainer for the alarm system and BDOC. While performing BDOC, responsible for logging all information on AF Form 53 Security Forces Blotter. As a Flight Armorer, responsible for accountability of all weapons and high dollar items stored in the Armory. Checks all personnel to make sure that they are certified to arm, and issues/turns in all weapons. Ensures all visitors are logged in and provided appropriate security badging.- Show less
