  Panasonic are one of the leading international television manufacturers who pride themselves on the quality of both design and manufacture. Part of ensuring this high standard of quality is rigorous testing during the design phase. EMC (electro magnetic compatibility) testing is one very important element of this process.As an Electrical Technician in the EMC test laboratory my responsibilities were: • Conduct testing on Panasonic televisions and other products to establish their compliance with EMC standards.• Report non-compliances to the design team and review subsequent modifications to determine additional testing.• Conduct energy consumption testing on televisions in the R&D (research and development) stage feeding back findings to the design team to improve design quality.• Independently produced a process to automatically generate a document outlining the energy details of a product, which will be used in the Japanese division. • Independently compiling test reports to be issued as a record of all testing.• Use clear and effective communication skills while operating on a shift pattern, avoiding errors or inaccuracies as a result of shift change.• Collaborate with the team to ensure a timely delivery of a completed test program while effectively working independently to complete individual tests or tasks.• Work on shifts without the presence of the lab manager, maintaining his ethos for attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency while instilling a high level of motivation and pride in the team.   BRE provide an internationally recognized mark of quality in the fire detection industry and approve products from manufacturers all over the world.As Technical Coordinator of the test laboratory my responsibilities are:• Undertake, manage and co-ordinate all test programs in the Fire Detection and Electronics Testing Business Group.• Motivate all members of the team to achieve the high standard of work expected by BRE.• Lead the training of all technicians and ensure that all testing is carried out correctly in accordance with BRE procedures and that all test programs are completed on time and within budget.• Oversee and follow up all project handover meetings from both the client and scheme manager to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.• Review and witness all product non-compliances and non-compliance reports from start to conclusion including review of corrective action and subsequent quotations.• Review all test reports for accuracy and quality.• Lead both internal and UKAS audits. • Liaise with customers on technical issues and solve any internal technical problems quickly and effectively to avoid any impact on the quality of service• Update customers with regular testing plans and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.• Take responsibility for health and safety processes and procedures.• Operate the test equipment for all vibration/shock testing conducted in the laboratory.
