STEM to SHTEM Intern with WBG Lab

      • Wide-Bandgap (WBG) Lab @ Stanford University• Presented research work on the foundation of 5G and the performance comparisons of various semiconductor technology• Conducting research in the design, characterization, and development of semiconductor technologies (ie. GaN, GaAs, InP, CMOS/SiGe, Gallium oxide, etc. ) for the applications of 5G (28 – 39 GHz), 6G (43 – 46 GHz), W-Band (75 – 110 GHz), and D-Band (125-165 GHz).• Presented findings to over 100 individuals of RF/mm-Wave Semiconductor Technology for 5G Applications and Beyond including the 5 steps to mastering 5G applications (ie. penetrative abilities of mm-wave frequencies, increasing the number of small cells, massive MIMO to amplify the capacitance of cell towers by 24 folds, full duplex to increase efficiency of signals incoming and outgoing, and beamforming to direct the signals to a narrowed point of interest) and difficulties with this new technological wave (ie. attenuation vs. frequency, frequency vs. power, PA design, efficiency levels for power vs. frequencies)• Video recorded presentation for over 100 attendees• Presented to a wide range of audiences including staff of the Electrical Engineering Department, Electrical Engineering Graduates and Ph.D. Candidates.• Wrote a journal of the findings on the RF/mm-Wave Semiconductor Technology for 5G Applications and Beyond• Mentored by Ph.D candidate to learn the fundamentals of electrical engineering and perform semiconductor device physics research.
