  Engineering Services Intern

  I was positioned in the Mechanical and Piping Section from 4th January 2021 to 6th August 2021 in the Engineering Services Department of Sapura Energy Fabrication Yard, Lumut. The yard is owned by Sapura Energy Berhad, one of the largest Oil and Gas companies in Malaysia which focuses on providing services for the upstream sector in the oil and gas industry. As for the internship project, I was tasked with creating ship loose list for Pegaga Central Processing Platform. This period enables me to gain knowledge about processes and documentation used in the upstream sector of oil and gas. 🔷Roles🔷1️⃣ Responsible for the preparation of piping ship-loose for hook-up and commissioning work mainly in Pegaga Integrated Central Processing Platform (ICPP) Project and Hess' Phase 3 Project.2️⃣ Cooperated with the senior engineers in the preparation of the Material Take-Off (MTO) document for the Pegaga Mercury Removal Unit (MRU) Project3️⃣ Checking and listing out any components from engineering drawings if requested.4️⃣ Creating and updating drawing registers from time to time.5️⃣ Examining and cross-checking details of components from documents such as purchase requisition and quotation.6️⃣ Attended training sessions by the company when requested.🔷Achievement🔷I created snippets of codes using VBA programming languages for estimating piping components weight from variables like size and materials during the preparation of ship-loose that contains up to two hundred pipelines. By using the codes, the process of weight estimation can be done automatically in Microsoft Excel instead of typing manually which saves a lot of time and reduces error. This leads to the early delivery of the task to the senior engineer. With this, I also received grade 4.00 at the end of internship. Show less

  I am currently assigned as Executive (Reliability) for Utilities Kerteh and Utilities Gebeng which are under Gas Processing & Utilities (GPU) Division of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB). As a reliability engineer for two centralised utilities plants that produce electricity, steam, industrial gases (nitrogen, oxygen and argon), and treated water to customers, together with maintenance and even operation team, I ensure:1. Reliability of the plants are achieving the business target by planning and reviewing the strategies of Improve Facility Reliability (IFR) with maintenance team. 2. Maintenance plans for equipment are adequate and economically viable for equipment in cogeneration, industrial gases and treated water plants to support in achieving the reliability target of the plant.3. Criticality of equipment are correctly assigned after discussion with both maintenance and operation team.4. Investigating the root cause of equipment with maintenance and operation team, hence way forward and further action items can be provided thus reducing the probability of equipment failure inthe future.5. Analysing the reliability parameters such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) which aids engineer in prioritising equipment for maintenance in a business year. Show less I was stationed in Pengerang Power Sdn Bhd as a Mechanical Static Engineer. As a Mechanical Static Engineer for Pengerang Cogeneration Plant (PCP) which is one of the largest cogeneration plants in Southeast Asia which can produces power and steam up to 1,729 MW and 3,200 tph respectively, my roles there are as below:1. Supervised the progress of plant improvement and shutdown project in ensuring the projects are completed within the time given2. Planned and ensured the periodically maintenance actions were performed within suitable time period in ensuring that the equipment are healthy for operation3. Performed troubleshooting at site whenever there were equipment failure (critical, degraded and incipient)4. Cooperated with reliability engineers assigning criticality of equipment in plant in prioritising maintenance plans5. Communicated with management in decision-making process for plant improvement activities from mechanical static perspective Show less As a RAM Analyst in Utilities, Gas Processing Unit (GPU), PETRONAS Gas Berhad, my job is to ensure the reliability, availability, and maintainability of equipment to meet production targets. I accomplish this by:1. Collecting and analysing failure and maintenance records for over 5,000 work orders using ISO 14224 and OREDA as reference standards.2. Using statistical analysis to determine failure and repair parameters, such as MTTF and MTTR, and to identify the best-fit distribution of failure and repair data for equipment.3. Develop a reliability block diagram to predict the plant's 2023 reliability and guide maintenance strategies to reduce costs and downtime.4. Analysing and identifying a Top Opportunity List for equipment, which helps prioritize corrective actions and resource allocation.5. Evaluating equipment performance using Reliability Growth Analysis after implementing corrective actions.6. Collaborating with engineers from different disciplines to review Equipment Criticality Assessments for up to 5,000 pieces of equipment.7. Provide input in terms of reliability for management in the decision-making process when there are changes of operating philosophy of plantOverall, my role is to ensure the plant's equipment operates reliably and efficiently, minimizing downtime and costs while maximising productivity.
