  Tamarack Camps is a Jewish non-profit organization from the metropolitan Detroit area. Tamarack's main goal is to provide a life-changing camping experience for children ages 8-18. With a variety of programs such as travel trips, outpost experience, and main camp, Tamarack leads the way in the Jewish camping community.As a trip leader, I led 5 successful backpacking trips all around Michigan. My responsibilities included packing all the food and gear for the trip prior to departure, distributing children's medication, cooking, wilderness first aid, and a plethora of other camping necessities. Basically, my job was to prepare the trip, protect and lead the children, create an unforgettable backcountry experience, and return safely. Show less
