  • Collaborated as a member of a team to design and analyze a graphite-moderated small modular nuclear reactor aimed at providing a cost-effective and sustainable energy solution for remote communities in the Canadian Arctic that rely on diesel generators• Utilized MATLAB to create histograms for a uniformity assessment of TRISO-coated fuel particles and statistically analyzed their distribution within a cylindrical fuel compact• Employed SolidWorks and ANSYS to develop a 3D thermal resistance model of the reactor core's heat pipes, facilitating a detailed analysis of heat transfer mechanisms• Assisted with the integration of the thermal-resistance model and fission-power data generated using SERPENT to enable a steady-state multi-physics coupling analysis of a heat pipe cooled reactor core• Utilized DRAGON to verify the accuracy of the neutronics calculations completed using SERPENT Show less
