  Under the Malaria Drug Research Laboratories, I received hands-on training on various techniques such as malaria diagnosis, introduction to in vitro malaria drug resistance and extraction of DNA and RNA.Key responsibilities • Compiling sample inventory and specimen archiving under the AFRICOS study• Identifying and enumerating malaria parasites in blood slides – genetic analysis of Plasmodium falciparum populations• Extracting DNA and RNA from samples of dried blood spots.
