  Development of Android Application for Enhancing Early Grade Bangla Reading SkillThrough its USAID-funded READ project, Save the Children in Bangladesh aims to work with government to enable GPS schools to use multimedia classrooms more effectively. READ will provide additional support to 1800 ICT schools where teachers have already received the twelve-day training mentioned above. READ will design a three-day training specifically focused on how teachers can integrate digitally formatted reading materials into lessons that are linked to textbook content. The objective is to help teachers and students in grades 1-3 to develop reading competence in an engaging and effective way in classrooms with multimedia capabilities.   Porar Khela E-learning Education Game For Save The Children International & USAIDDescription: This app was developed under the ‘ICT in Education’ component of the READ project. READ is a flagship project funded by the USAID and implemented by Save the Children in Bangladesh. The key purpose of the project is to improve the Bangla reading skills of early grade learners. This app will help the students of grade I-III to improve their Bangla reading skills. There are five reading components - Phonemic Awareness, Letter Knowledge, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension. This app contains a huge number of games on each of the components. The games create opportunities for the student to practice the reading-related aspects in a very interactive way. Contents of the games were taken mainly from the Bangla textbooks of grade III. Some other contents were also included, which are relevant to textbook contents and age-appropriate.
