Application Security Assessments - I have performed both static source code analysis as well as dynamic application vulnerability assessments. My personal favorite are SAP tests.Project Management - I served as the project manager for the initial development stages of the new Fortify on Demand Portal. When that project went into production at the beginning of 2013 I transitioned to the project manager of proof of values. Basically working with interested customers to show them how our services work and give them a test run with one of their applications.Application Administrator - I am responsible for managing the infrastructure of several smaller applications and was also the main application administrator for FoD 2.0 when it first deployed.Project Manager for Proof of value - I was responsible for introducing a potential client to the HP FOD portal, working with them to perform one or more applications security assessments on an application of their choice and then reviewing the results. I also worked with several companies local to Atlanta and elsewhere to integrate a static security assessment into their continuous build server environment. Show less

      Apr 2016 - Nov 2024
      Senior application security engineer

Over the years my role has evolved, allowing me to showcase my abilities to learn and adapt rapidly to address new challenges, as well as broadening my understanding across the application security landscape. When I first started at Microsoft my responsibilities revolved around running the static code analysis and dynamic web scanning programs for internal facing applications. Eventually, as those programs evolved, I transitioned off into a more flexible roll that saw me performing deep dive security assessments against specific applications, analyzing datasets in SQL and Kusto databases to look for ways engineers might be circumventing security controls, and product managing creation of dashboards to convey to executives the state of compliance against certain security controls.I was eventually assigned to lead the early effort to understand the extent of Shadow IT within the Corporate divisions. As the degree of the issue became clearer I eventually handed off the lead role to a director, but continue to lead the rollout of the Secure Development Lifecycle and associated compliance programs. In this role I have been managing a contractor and backfilled for my manager while she was out on maternity leave, allowing me to gain valuable management experience. Show less
