  Boilermakers assemble,install and repair boilers,closed vats and other large vessels or containers that hold liquids and gases.They perform phyically demanding ,and at times dengerous workMost learn the trade through a formal apprenticeship program A boilermaker will typically do the followiing 1.Use blue prints to determine locations,possitions ,or dimentions of parts 2.Install small pre made boilers into buildings and manufacturing facilities 3.Lay out prefabricated parts of larger boilers before assembling them 4.Assemble boiler tanks, often using robotic welders5. Test and inspect boiler systems for leaks or defects6. Clean vats using scrapers ,wire brushes,and cleaning solvants7.Replace or repair broken valves ,pipes ,or joints 8. Use hand and power tools ,gas torches and welding equipmentBoilers are made out of steel,iron copper ,or stainless steel.Manufacturers are increasingly automating the production of boilers to improve the quality of these vessels ,How ever boilers still use many tools in making or repairing boilers Show less
