  Work experience

  My time with Wiltshire Publications involved writing and research news stories for three newspapers (Melksham News, White Horse News and Frome Times), in addition to that I shadowed a senior journalist on a handful of stories, and was shown how to design the paper.The placement allowed me to gain an understanding of how a local newspaper is run and how a journalist operates within the restrictions of working for a publication of its size.

  Work experience

  I spent my work experience placement with the sports department at Media Wales/WalesOnline - I spent most of my time with the football reporters. My duties included researching and writing stories. For the stories I wrote I was given feedback to improve my writing and to fit the style of the publication.Whilst at Media Wales I was able to experience both rugby and football press conferences, which gave me a new insight into the industry. It was beneficial and interesting to me as a fan and a journalism student. Show less
