Oct 2004 - Jul 2006Junior aviation practitionerBoth in October 2004 and June 2006, I took part in an industrial placement with the Civil Aviation Authority as a Junior Aviation Practitioner, which was based within the Safety Regulation Group. Whilst in the Flight Operations Inspectorate Department, I worked as part of a team who were responsible for account management, aircraft safety management, flight and ICT simulation management, and IT management and systems control. Feb 2014 - Sept 2014First host (flight operations)As a dedicated First Host, I was on hand to anticipate the passenger travel needs of First, Business and premium passengers. Through coordination and supervision, I monitored ground handling operations and service delivery as required to ensure Qantas standards were being met, that on-time performance is achieved, and assisted where problems are beyond the level of expertise of the ground handling staff. I oversaw the coordination of arrivals and departures, by maintaining company and service level agreement standards through the managing and supporting of check-in, gate operations, and baggage delivery, in order to ensure a smooth and on-time operation. Being trained extensively in Amadeus, Altéa/CM Departure Control System and some shared airport systems (i.e. iMuse, World Tracer, Merlin, AOS/IDAHO), I assisted both passengers and staff with technical issues, including system failures, visa issues and ticketing re-issuing and re-validation. In addition, I undertook and led project work in consultation with the Duty Airport Managers and Airport Manager, to help assist the Qantas Group's long term strategic vision. I briefed all flight crews through the production of METAR data, NOTAMs and runway data reports, and was responsible for monitoring daily flying activities, monitoring weather and other events for possible delays. With my strong technical background, I assisted colleagues with systems and procedural training. On a customer services level, I arranged catering supplies, fuel, hotels and air/ground transport, while ensuring customer requests are fully met and standards are upheld.
