  A national level award (NSERC) to help fund my Summer undergraduate project researching the development of a radiochromic film for a real-time and self-calibrating dosimeter, which can be used for example during administration of brachytherapy treatment. I was co-supervised by Dr. Ozzy Mermut, PhD and Dr. Alexandra Rink, PhD, CCPM. Here my poster presentation won first prize at the NSERC Summer Undergraduate Research Conference 2019. Representing YorkU during various open-house events discussing the faculty of Science and in particular my program to prospective students. Volunteer tutor in all first year and second year undergraduate Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics (and some computer science). Only students having achieved at least an A in the considered courses and passed an extensive interview process are eligible to volunteer. Paid position to plan and lead study sessions for first year undergraduate Physics (for Physicists primarily but also for non-physicists as necessary). I developed study material consisting of review presentations, different types of review questions and assisted the professor (Dr. Randy Lewis) during tutorials. Only students having achieved at least an A in the considered courses and passed an extensive interview process are eligible for this position.   MSc candidate in the University of Toronto department of Medical Biophysics researching medical imaging techniques (e.g., biophotonics, magnetic resonance imaging) and radiation biology towards a future in adaptive radiation medicine. I am supervised by Dr. Alex Vitkin, PhD, CCPM. Roles:• Experimental design of in-vivo pre-clinical model of pancreatic cancer (statistics and standard operating procedure (SOP) development);• Tool design and fabrication (primarily via FDM and MSLA 3D printing);• All data acquisition (leading multi-modal (e.g., fluorescence, brightfield and optical coherence tomography (OCT)) optical imaging, animal care and surgeries, and radiation treatment delivery);• OCT Signal processing for tumour and vessels segmentation (blood, lymphatics and nerves);• Histology image processing for OCT data corroboration;• Preliminary work in neural network-based time-series analysis of longitudinal response to high dose radiotherapy;• Development of techniques for 3D co-registration between OCT microscopic imaging to MR macroscopic imaging.Also:• Collaborator in investigation on the effects of radiation (diagnostic and therapeutic range) on the extracellular matrix (primarily collagen polymerization) with the Faculty of Dentistry at UofT, Dr. Laurent Bozec’s lab (November 2020 – September 2022);o Roles: Tool development for and conducting of irradiation of collagen samples; Development of pipeline for texture analysis and neural network-based feature classification.• Collaborator in investigation on photosensitizer biodistribution toward optimization of photodynamic therapies with the department of MBP at UofT (University Health Network (UHN)), Dr. Lothar Lilge’s lab (October 2021 - now);o Roles: Tool development for enabling multi-modal imaging (2-photon fluorescence microscopy, and later MRI); Animal model development.
