      Digital media intern

      A trailblazer at heart, I collaborated with University of Alaska’s Journalism department and the Anchorage International Film Festival to create an internship that didn’t exist. Carving out a new role meant trying new things and experimenting with responsibilities including creating online content, managing social media pages and creating a promo video for the festival, fundraising, accompanying filmmakers on tours and photographing various events.

      Collaborated with my Co-Producer to write, film and edit a web series to help Alaska Native students transition culturally to a university setting from rural Alaskan villages. Set project timelines and kept teams on task to complete milestones according to schedule. Supervised 30 team members throughout the production and editing process. Decreased production downtime by accurately scheduling call times and locations. Collaborated with the University Provost's office to develop scopes and implement project plans.       Manages and oversees multiple facets of production, including pre production i.e. budgeting, securing locations, hiring department heads and crew members, getting releases signed for performers, music clearances, casting, creating the shooting schedule, coordinating with department heads to make sure they’re on track. Overseeing physical production and managing receipts and equipment inventory, making sure we follow union rules and regulations on set and monitoring cast and crew’s wellbeing. Coordinating editing efforts between music composers, editors and colorists to ensure a quality final product to proper specs. Completed marketing tasks such as designing the movie poster and festival flyers, posting on social media and promoting the film via word of mouth. Evaluating distribution options, researching and submitting to festivals and collaborating with festivals to get them proper materials to display our films in theaters. Episodes cover a range of topics like healthcare, self-care, entrepreneurship, finances, local government and more. The podcast climbed to the top 5% of Apple podcasts in its first year.Used my production experience to select proper equipment for audio recording. Consulted the host on performance delivery and best practices on audio recording. Collaborated with the creator to determine interesting topics and write interview questions. Collaborated with the creator and host to find and choose professionals in fields that were passionate about education. Promoted the podcast by creating digital fliers and social media content.       Second Place Anchorage 48 Hour Film Challenge Oct 2015 Filmmakers had to write, produce, edit and submit a short film in 48 hours based on required prompts given at the start of the competition. The required line was "ooh that burns", the required camera movement was a dolly and the required title was based on the Kiss song "She". Our film was about a guy trying to attract a girl by becoming more "her type". Comedy ensues when his roommate convinces him to wax his legs, get a spray tan and even a body piercing.

      Audience Choice Award Quick Freeze Film Competition Dec 2014 Filmmakers had to write, produce, edit and submit a short film in six days based on required prompts given at the start of the competition. The required prop was a turkey baster, the line was "clever girl" and the action was falling out of a chair. Our team made a five minute mockumentary titled "The Master Baster" about a painter who is becoming famous for his use of turkey basters to create masterpieces.
