      Mechanical Technician/Team leader within an Engineering Workshop servicing all plant and equipment for the Teesside Steelworks. Work scopes cover many different types of equipment from Pumps, Valves & Gearboxes to specific plant equipment such as Continuous Casting Straightener Segments which is a complex machine involving fitting, machining, hydraulics, and setting highly machined components to very tight tolerances.First line supervision and safety of a 30-man team of Technicians and Machinists, the day to day communications between internal customers and suppliers and the need to react to changing priorities to plant breakdowns. Responsible for the purchase of materials using SAP and ensuring the specifications are correct.Hydraulic & Pneumatic Actuator Refurbishment which involves the full overhaul of all types of actuators including machining and setting up to fine tolerances, resealing and pressure testing.Departmental safety meetings, environmental improvement meetings and ISO 9001 quality assurance meetings so I have a good understanding of managing HSE as well as the practical skills to do the job.
