      Research Assistant and Resident Advisor

      - I was a Resident Advisor (RA), for the second semester of my Freshman year through my Junior year in college. During this time I honed my peer leadership skills. As the liaison between University Housing and residents I tried to ensure students balanced fun and academics. In this role I was called upon to respond to a variety of challenging situations, acting as a role model of appropriate interpersonal, professional, and academic behavior. I strove to support the diverse needs of residents by establishing and maintaining an inclusive community. - Research Assistant, worked Dr. Larry Jarvis to establish stand-specific objectives, and tracked mechanical and chemical treatments for optimal crop tree development in a local demonstration forest from 1996-1998.
