Activities and Societies: NUS Community Service Club As an undergraduate, I have acquired strong research skills. In my Final Year Project, I was tasked to investigate how the intracellular domains of N-Methyl-D-Aspartate (NMDA) receptor contribute to the opening or closing of this ionotropic receptor. Besides learning the necessary laboratory techniques, I have also acquired skills such as troubleshooting and critical thinking. Coordinator (research database)

      - Managed 4 databases (Esophageal cancer, Lung Cancer, Nasopharyngeal Cancer and Prostate Cancer) by transferring these databases to a research database platform, REDCap, and using its features to ensure good integrity and validation of data- Performed quantitative analysis for various research studies by generating statistics (e.g. Kaplan-Meier curves) using R, so as to examine the outcomes of the respective studies (e.g. survival rate).- Collected and verified data for 4 cancer-related research studies by gathering data from 3 different sources (e.g electronic medical records, hard copy medical records), ensuring that Principal Investigators have relevant and good quality data to carry out with their respective studies- Improved efficiency and accuracy of data collection process by having a Python program to assist in reading clinical entries and creating data validation programs using R to flag out potential errors- Visualized the clinicians’ poor compliance of recording acute toxicities data for patients with nasopharyngeal cancer by generating graphs using SPSS, creating the awareness and improve subsequent data completeness from 33% to 90%.- Established the usage of REDCap as a research database platform by advocating its practical features to both the research team and the clinicians.
