With my drive for my work and support for the team, my supervisor recommended me to be a team leader in the Green Army projects area.

I worked in a team to teach students surf awareness and safety skills through beach and water activities to give participants confidence at the beach. I have received positive feedback from students and staff members on their day with me and the program overall.

In operations, I obtained a role where I distributed order boxes and labels to the team for packing orders. This position required time management and an assessment of orders to make sure they were dispatched, packed, and loaded in good time. I also helped the dispatch area team ensure orders were correctly and neatly packed and sent for delivery.       HunterWiSE provides opportunities for women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across the Hunter region. The program aims to positively shape girls’ perception of STEM, sparking interest in STEM education and careers.In my role as a student mentor, I assisted Year 8 students in identifying and solving a local community issue while developing their STEM skills. I guided the students through their project objectives and goals. I also assisted in prototype development and the creation of a project information poster for a presentation evening with stakeholders and organisations. I was proud of my student's achievements across the term, and their hard work paid off, as they won Most Outstanding Project. Show less
