      Activities and Societies: Student Research Lab- Dr. Michel Pelletier’s Lab May 2010-July 2010 • The major focus of the research was to understand the lipid biosynthesis process in Trypanosoma bruccei, the parasite causing African sleeping sickness. This was done by isolating “Tplpn” and disrupting its expression by RNA interference to identify its major functions as they relate to the Trypanosome’s metabolism and cellular growth.
