We earned the top Award of Distinction from the Joint Poultry Industry Safety and Health Council from 2011 - 2015 for TRIR, DART, and LWDIR injury rates at least 50% lower than the poultry industry rate along with high scores for innovative safety programs. In addition, our Team was awarded the NCDOL Gold Safety Award for DART rates at least 50% lower than the food manufacturing rate in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015. Our TRIR improved by 86% from 1999 - 2015 while I supported a 7-days a week production operation from 2004 - 2014. Special recognition goes out to our Sanitation team, which worked 6 years with no recordable injuries, a remarkable achievement for a crew of 40 associates cleaning the plant 7 days a week in a very challenging environment.
