  My role with Accounting Society Manchester (ASM) as a Social Executive allows me to take over the organisation’s Facebook account and post contents such as weekly career tips and updates on our events. I am responsible for designing posters using Canva, generating captions, and communicating with our sponsor - CPA Australia.I also worked with another colleague to organise a dinner social event for both members and non-members. One new skill that I gained from that experience is negotiation as I worked to get the best price and subsidy I could for the benefit of those who are interested in ASM or the dinner. In the end, we successfully attracted more than 45 people to show up. Show less

  Being a hospitality staff at Manchester Central, I am able to meet people of different status and from all around the world. I deliver high quality customer service to every guest with equal respect regardless of their social identity.The role and responsibilities that I hold varied from shifts to shifts. It can range from setting/cleaning up pre- and post-event, to engaging directly with a customer - e.g. answering questions or serving food and drinks. I am also barista-trained to work with coffee machines and tills.Due to the range of duties and the nature of the job itself, I have been taught to be flexible and adaptable to unforeseen situations.   During this summer internship with Beever and Struthers, I am allocated to work on service charges for social housing. It involves reviewing the service charge statements provided by the clients, which will then be sent to the tenants for their information on what they had paid or will be paying for.Examples of tasks that I have executed so far include:- Lease review- Agreeing accounts to invoice details, prior year signed accounts and budget- Inputting data and picking invoices for testing purposes- Querying clients on missing documents or possible errorsetc.Since most of the above are done through Microsoft Excel, I learnt how to better navigate through information and improve my work efficiency.
