  I am the Receiving Office, Movements, Audio Visual Link and Prisoner's Property Principal Corrections Officer at Whanganui Prison. In this role I oversee the receiving and release of prisoners from District Courts in Taurumanui, Ohakune, Taihape, Marton, Hawera and New Plymouth. I have a direct reporting line of 28 staff consisting of 4 Senior Corrections Officers (my 2 !/C group) 20 Corrections Officers and 4 Civilian staff. This team of professionals also conduct the daily escorting of prisoners and the transferring of prisoners to and from Whanganui Prison. We conduct Sentence calculations, Release dates, organise and conduct hospital and medical appointments, transfers and general escorts of prisoners. When necessary I acted as the Prison's Operational, Movements and Support Manager.Rank Principal Corrections Officer. My last role was as the site's Security PCO involving the Supervision of the entire Prison after normal Business hours. That role had me also oversee the CCTV network, monitor Electronic Door and grill access - Card Readers - metal detectors, searching, X-Ray machine operation searching, X-Ray machine trainer. I remain the Site's only Ironicing Radiation Device license holder. I conducted Security Clearances, Police and Criminal checks for visitors and staff. Show less

I was selected as the Supervision Officer for the period above and covered the duties of the British Police Officer while he was off Island in covering all duties to do with those sentenced to Home Detention of Paroled. This included visits, permitting their temp releases etc.
