I coordinated the team for Sabi Hub that implemented three streams of the Incubation Program (3 months each) developed by The Future Project Nigeria under the Microsoft YourthSpark initiative. Three Hundred (300) SMEs business from the South-South region of Nigeria; were trained and provided mentorship during the program. Sept 2018 - Jan 2020As one of the pioneer staff members of Sabi Hub, led the organization in various capacities and helped build a virtual community of over 500 Startup and business owners around the South-South, offering entrepreneurship and business development training Bi-weekly, the community began on WhatsApp and later migrated to Slack. Also, I coordinated physical community engagement meetups once a month for Community Members.In two years of being with SabiHub as its Program and Communication Manager, I worked with the team to secure several partnerships; BudgIT Nigeria, The Future Project Nigeria through a Microsoft partnership, training over 350 youth-owned businesses and startups for one year on the essentials of business under Sabihub – Startup Incubation Programme (SIP), with external funding to make the training completely free of charge to the participants. Worked with a team to design and implement the “Sabi Hub Startup Incubation Program” to help accelerate youth-owned businesses in Nigeria, equipping them with knowledge in proposal writing, business planning, Business Model Canvas, Financing, Branding, Marketing, and others. Yielding the much-needed fruits as some of the businesses are now standing on their own.It was a pleasure and sheer joy seeing businesses and startups trained under Sabihub succeed and contribute to “fixing” youth unemployment problem in Nigeria. The Unearth Program offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a unique opportunity to engage with MOWAA Archaeology, contribute to heritage management projects, develop industry-relevant skills, and network with professionals from MOWAA and its partner organizations.In the Unearth Program, my responsibilities include:- Program Design: designed the program under the guidance of the MOWAA Institute Director and in collaboration with partners from the British Museum. This process involves consulting with the MOWAA Archaeologist, heads of archaeology departments at major Nigerian universities, and relevant traditional institutions.- Activity Coordination: coordinate the activities of the program fellows, ensuring their learning experiences align with the program design and exceed expectations.- Stakeholder Communication: maintain communications and relationships with partner universities across Nigeria, including the University of Benin, Ahmadu Bello University, the University of Nigeria, the University of Ibadan, and the University of Jos.- Mentorship Coordination: manage the relationship between Unearth fellows and their mentors before, during, and after the fellows' community engagement projects.- Budget Management: Oversee the program budget, ensuring prudent allocation of resources.- Staff and Volunteer Management: manage the staff members and volunteers of the Outreach and Learning department to ensure effective program execution and delivery.Through these responsibilities, I ensure that the Unearth Program provides a transformative learning experience for students, fostering their development and contributing to the preservation and appreciation of West African heritage.
