Compiling revenue reports as well as created and established the Hotel VIP report.Controlled all aspects of housekeeping including, all aspects of running internal laundry, upgrading rooms internally (Did the whole process personally :painting, color washing walls, soft furnishings, curtaining of specific Suites in December 2009), maintaining par stock levels from par 1.2 to par 3, linen orders and comparisons based on best price system, implementing various control systems not in place before (key control, store control, guest amenity control, proper linen control), Firstly took over a permanent staffing compliment of 36 room attendants and 5 supervisory staff including FO staff from April 08 to July 08. FOM appointed and focus moved to housekeeping. 62 new rooms build and coordinated completion of these rooms with regards to operating equipment, soft furnishings etc. In September 2009 the company went over to an outsourced housekeeping company and all staff had to be trained starting with the basics of housekeeping up to more advanced levels of service. I was personally involved in this training in the effort to upkeep my current 4 star standards of service, In October 2010 the housekeeping contract was cancelled and the whole housekeeping department had to be re-staffed with mostly unskilled staff I was and still am responsible for the training and wellbeing of this new staff compliment, to reach 4 star cleaning standards. Feb 2012 - Apr 2012Relief ManagerKedar Country Hotel consists of 65 rooms and conference facilities for up to 150 delegates in the Boekenhout Fontein room Cinema style, the Summerhouse 50 delegates & Legotla 40 delegates. I have attached a photo as requested as well.Duties: I was given this opportunity to wear my General Managers hat. I enjoyed and executed this task well. The previous GM had resigned and I was the best candidate to fill the temporary position at such short notice. This Hotel has 65 rooms that has an occupancy of 70-100% I was in charge of 100 staff members in total, from the front line to the landscapers. In this period the budget was met and the food and beverage cost dropped from 45-32%. My operational structures were put in place and are still executed thoroughly.The Hotel also has the Paul Kruger Country House museum that is a national heritage site. Here my duties included the tours (resident tour guide), exhibitions, curator ship and general up keep in conjunction with the National Heritage Foundation. Assisted by Prof. Annemarie Carlson.
