      Jan 1998 - Jan 2015
      Head Baseball Coach

Managed all on- and off-field elements of NCAA Division I baseball program that grew from relative obscurity to a national Top 25 ranking, while consistently maintaining one of the highest team GPAs on campus and in the West. Served a critical leadership role in securing and nurturing long-term relationships with donors who made major gifts toward funding an assistant coaching position and more than $2M in new baseball construction, including the Andy Pienovi Indoor Hitting Facility and the complete renovation of Joe Etzel Field. Developed a three-pronged annual fundraising program consisting of the Friends of Pilots Baseball Golf Tournament, management of the ecology program for the Safeway Classic LPGA event, and creation and execution of the annual Diamond Dinner & Auction. Together, these events raised more than 600K to supplement scholarships, team travel, recruiting, equipment and uniforms. Utilized in-home visits, phone calls, and written correspondence to foster trusting relationships with both donors and recruits. Served on design committee alongside administrators and architects in the planning stages of a new baseball stadium, and ultimately the complete renovation of Joe Etzel Field. Maintained strong relationships with university administration and faculty, exemplified in part by annual invitations to speak in sociology, philosophy, and life skills classes. Show less
