    • SUNY Oswego - School of Communication, Media & Arts

      Aug 2012 - now
      Chief Broadcast Engineer

Chief Broadcast Engineer at the State University of New York at the Oswego Campus. I am responsible for all broadcasting studios, audio and video equipment related to student and faculty use and all classroom and laboratories. I am responsible for WTOP, the student run television station and WNYO, the student run radio station. Over the summer of 2015 I designed and help installed a $500,000.00, 6 camera HD production studio, on time and under budget. In 2016 I completed a similar project for the student run broadcast station. I schedule and maintain three fully operational production studios as well as oversee a student worker staff of twelve employees. I work closely with the faculty to identify equipment needs prior to and after each semester. I am a member of the College Technology Committee and the College Equipment Committee. I maintain three Mac laboratories containing forty-four iMac and Mac Pro’s running Pro Tools, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premier. I provide students with hands on training for all studio equipment as well as all ENG gear. I maintain the equipment reservation system and assist students with its proper use. Prior to joining SUNY, I had the privilege to be part of the original management team at News 10 Now, a 24 Hour Local News channel from Time Warner Cable. I was involved in the planning stages of the launch project, the strategic plan and the finial direction of the channel, implementation of the technical infrastructure and eventually, the daily operations, maintenance and management of the facility and staff. As Operations Manager it was my responsibility to establish quality control and safety procedures by which the technical staff adhered to. This included the guidelines for media acquisition, proper use of equipment and monitoring the channel’s finial output product. News 10 Now was the first news facility in CNY to implement a video over IP based workflow and provides their viewers with six remote newsrooms across Upstate NY. Show less
