  Scouting of the innovations is the first step towards the fulfillment of the mission of NIF. The art of scouting involves the extensive fieldwork; travel in rural and urban areas, local committee and knowledge experts in identifying creative and innovative people in the society; and students in summer vacation etc. Coordination with various governmental and non-governmental agencies to mount national campaign to scout innovations through grassroots level functionaries of education, agriculture, rural development, small scale industry, Panchayti Raj institutions etc.Screening, documentation and verifying the claims about these innovations through various networks of scientific and other institutional and initiatives. Sorting of the Innovations category wise, technology wise and taking care of other factors as well. Ascertaining the geniuses through NAP Alert Database, WIPO, USPTO, etc.To obtain Prior Informed Consent of the providers of knowledge. Analysis of PIC obtained and short-listing and prioritizing the innovations for award and to take forward in the value chain with experts’ inputs. Providing input towards the Research and Development programme of NIF and GIANs, setup in different regions of the country. Planning for dissemination and business development of the innovations with assistance to the National Coordinators. Facilitating exhibitions, workshops, and seminars from time to time at different places. Day-to-day management of the center and also providing administrative and other logistics support as and when required. Show less
